The privacy of Corona Infection Contact Tracing App Arogya Setu has been
in question from the beginning. Although many ethical hackers have questioned
the privacy of the app, more than 100 million people have downloaded the app
in just 41 days. When questions were raised about the privacy of the app,
the government held a press conference and informed that the Android
version of the app has been made open source.
The government clarified that the source code of the app has been made available.
By providing open source code, any developer in the world can find out what
information is stored in the Arogya Setu app and what the app is doing in the phone.
The government also launched a bug bounty program to detect bugs in the app.
Under which a bug finder in Arogya Setu app will be given a prize of
Rs 1 lakh. The government has welcomed all developers for this.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, French security expert and ethical hacker
Elliott Anderson tweeted and raised questions about the privacy of the
Arogya Setu App . The government had asked to publish the source code of the app.
