Australian Researchers have set a world record for the highest internet speeds
in the world. Researchers at Australia's Monash, Swinburne and RMIT universities
have successfully tested the world's fastest internet data speeds. This speed is Tbps which
is terabyte per second. This internet speed is so high that more than 42 thousand GB of data
can be downloaded in just 1 minute.
Simply put, 1 megabyte contains 1 lakh units of digital information. A broadband
connection provides speeds of up to 100 Mbps, with 100MB of data being received per
second. This speed is less than 1 Mbps in mobile data connection. This new world record
is 44.2 Tbps. 1000GB of data can be downloaded in just one second at an internet speed of
terabytes per second. This means that researchers have downloaded 44,200 GB of data per second.
The average broadband speed in the UK is 64 megabytes per second. Now researchers in
Australia have set the record with the help of a single chip called a micro-comb. This chip
replaces the existing 80 layers of existing telecom hardware with just one small chip. Experts
say that with its help, the demand for streaming and socializing will increase. Apart from that new technological self-driving cars, medicine and education and hope will help in many places.
